Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit (ICU) position requiring MO or compact RN license and ACLS certification.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit within a Level 2 trauma center hospital
• 36-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:3 to 1:5 depending on shift and support staff availability
• Total RN-based care model with limited tech support unless unit is stretched
• Unit secretaries scheduled 7am-7pm for resource support
• Uses BiPAP, heated high-flow nasal cannulas, Alaris IV pumps, and Kangaroo feeding pumps
• Documentation via Meditech
• 13-week assignment with 7a-7p shift schedule
• Floating required to Telemetry Unit
• Bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and daily leadership rounds expected

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Certification required for ICU placement
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience required
• Advanced assessment and critical thinking skills required
• Experience managing vasoactive drips required
• Experience with central line/PICC line placement and chest tube placement required
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two professional references required for Missouri placement
• No gaps in work history of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct bedside critical care to ICU/PCU patients including central line and chest tube management
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills valued on this unit
• Required uniform: charcoal grey scrub tops with charcoal grey or black scrub bottoms, with black or charcoal grey jackets
• Rotating holiday schedule applies
• No local candidates accepted; 50-mile radius rule applies with no exceptions
• First-time travelers may be considered
