Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a Level II Trauma acute care hospital, requiring an active AK RN license and prior operating room experience.
Details
- Acute hospital setting in the Operating Room department
- Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma facility recognized as a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
- 407 staffed beds
- Day shift schedule of either 4x10 or 3x12 hour shifts, with start times varying between 0645-1915 or 0900-2130
- Weekend work required
- On-call limited to coverage for call-offs only
- May float to like units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
- Scrubs provided by facility
- Free parking available
Requirements
- Active AK RN license required in hand prior to offer
- Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience
- BLS certification required
- ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred
- Experience with 1:1 patient ratios
- Epic charting experience required
- Level I Trauma experience preferred
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Current certifications must be submitted for consideration
- Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers or declinations not accepted)
Additional Information
- Perform circulating and scrub duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, neuro, vascular, thoracic, urology, ENT, and gynecologic surgery
- Experience with robotic-assisted surgery systems (Da Vinci Xi, Mazor) a plus
- Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
- Former permanent Providence staff must be separated for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
- Travelers may work a maximum of 1 calendar year at this facility, followed by a required 6-month break before returning
- All requested time off must be submitted and approved at the time of offer
- Housing options in the area may be limited
