Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with 1+ years of experience in cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures for a short-term acute care hospital setting.
Details
- Cardiac Cath Services unit within a short-term acute care hospital with 325 staffed beds
- Performs diagnostic procedures, PCI (stents, balloon angioplasty, laser, rotablator, Impella, IABP, CTO)
- Performs structural heart procedures including TAVR, balloon valvuloplasty, and Watchman
- Performs electrophysiology procedures including EPS, Afib/flutter ablations, and BIV/pacemaker implants
- Uses Epic EMR
- 4x10 hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- On-call required one day per week plus one weekend every 5-6 weeks
- Potential to float between sister facilities
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab/EP Technologist
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- ARRT-R or CCI RCIS certification required (not both)
- WA RT or CIS license required (not both); license required if applicable
- Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience required
- Travel experience required
- Rhythm interpretation skills preferred
- Experience with procedural responsibilities including EKG lead placement, room circulator duties, and maintaining a sterile field
- Full SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include arrhythmia induction, baseline measurements, cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, cardioversion, conduction studies, and electrophysiology evaluation
- Responsibilities include insertion/programming of AICDs, LAA closure, pacemaker insertion, and tilt table studies
- Responsibilities include cardiac stent placement, Impella insertion, left/right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, and rotablator atherectomy
- Additional skills include coil embolization, thrombolysis, and thrombectomy
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
- Local candidates are not accepted; candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for a travel contract
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a minimum of 3 months, provided they live outside the 50-mile radius
- All requested time off must be included at the time of submission
- Must be willing to work 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility as permanent staff, traveler, or per-diem/registry
