Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of CVICU experience and active ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
Details
- Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend
- Floating required to other units or campuses as needed, limited to units of demonstrated competency
- EPIC EMR experience of at least 1 year required
Requirements
- Active SC or compact RN license required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Associate degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- 1+ years of recent experience in the unit will be considered
- Minimum 1 year of experience with EPIC EMR required
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care
- Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure care
- Experience with post cardiac surgery care, IABP, CVP monitoring, and cardiac drip titration
- Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and acute/chronic renal failure management
- Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG and cardiac monitoring
- Knowledge of infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill cardiovascular ICU patients
- Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive medications as needed
- Monitor and manage patients with hemodynamic instability and post-cardiac surgery needs
- Scrub color required: green scrubs
- Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance training required
- Pre-assignment testing and training modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
- Travelers must be located more than 100 miles from every Prisma Health facility to be eligible, with select exceptions for certain specialties
