Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring C-section and Cerner charting experience.
Details
- Acute care Labor and Delivery unit with 18 LDRP beds, 14-bed OB triage, and 8-bed Antepartum unit
- Unit averages 8-10 deliveries per day and includes 2 fully equipped OR suites for C-sections
- Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 2:1, with Antepartum up to 4:1 and C-sections 1:1
- Uses Cerner EMR and Fetal Link EFM system
- Night shift schedule, 1900-0700
- Requires 4 weekend shifts per schedule
- First to float among staff, with floating to Mother Baby/Postpartum units when needed
- On-call is voluntary, not required
- Holiday coverage requested if available
- Floor-specific orientation is 1 week
Requirements
- Active AZ or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 4 years of RN experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NRP
- Must have experience circulating and recovering C-sections
- Computer charting experience required, Cerner preferred
- Must be able to titrate Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate per protocol
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 80% prior to offer confirmation
- Must pass a Pass/Fail sterile technique simulation lab on day one of orientation
- Driver's license copy required for consideration
Additional Information
- Care for laboring and preterm pregnant patients, including gestations 28 weeks and greater as a Level II facility
- Level 1 Trauma Center setting with OB Hospitalist in-house and 24/7 Respiratory Therapy, Anesthesia, and Pharmacy support
- 13 charge nurses support the unit
- Scrub color is blue, though scrubs are not required for L&D
- Patients are transferred to Postpartum after delivery
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Candidates must not have been directly employed by any facility within the health system in the past year, though PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable
- Study guides provided for dysrhythmia exam preparation
