Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring C-section circulating/recovery experience and AZ or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Level 1 Trauma Center with a Level II nursery accepting gestations of 28 weeks and greater
- 18 LDRP beds, 14-bed OB triage, and 8-bed Antepartum unit with 2 fully equipped ORs for C-sections
- Average of 8-10 deliveries per day
- Nurse-to-patient ratios typically 2:1, Antepartum up to 4:1, and 1:1 for C-sections
- EMR: Cerner; EFM system: Fetal Link
- Night shift schedule, 1900-0700
- 4 weekend shifts per schedule required
- First to float among staff, with floating to MB/PP as needed when census requires
- Holiday coverage requested if available
- Voluntary call/standby only
- One week of floor-specific orientation provided
Requirements
- Active AZ or Compact RN license required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 4 years of L&D experience required
- Must have experience circulating and recovering C-sections
- Computer charting experience required, Cerner experience preferred
- Required to titrate Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate per protocol
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 80% prior to offer confirmation (maximum 2 attempts)
- Must pass a pass/fail sterile technique simulation lab on the first day of orientation
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
Additional Information
- Care for laboring and preterm pregnant patients
- Confidently circulate and recover C-section cases
- OB Hospitalist in house, along with 24/7 Respiratory Therapy, Anesthesia, and Pharmacy support
- 13 charge nurses supporting the unit
- Patients transferred to PP after delivery
- Blue scrub color required; scrubbing in is not necessary
- Failure of the dysrhythmia exam or sterile technique test on second attempt results in a 6-month do-not-use status with CommonSpirit Arizona and Sacramento facilities
- Candidates may not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year, though PRN employment through outside firms will be considered
