Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cardiovascular Technologist for a Cath Lab/IR unit requiring 2+ years of Cath Lab experience and ARRT or RCIS certification.
Details
- Work in a unit with 1 Cath Lab, 1 IR room, and 1 Hybrid room
- Non-trauma designated 107-bed facility
- Cath Lab cases include LHC/RHC, diagnostic and interventional procedures, IABPs, Rotablator, STEMIs/MIs, pacemakers, generator changes, MICRAs, staged/protected PCIs, and CTOs
- No EP/ablations performed
- IR cases include coil embolizations, nephrostomy tubes/nephroureteral stents, central lines, ports, G/GJ tubes, IVC filters, tunneled and temporary dialysis catheters, Inari/Penumbra/EKOS for clots, and shockwave; will assist CT/MRI with biopsies
- No Neuro IR or Y90 procedures performed
- Hybrid room cases include AAA grafts, peripheral/AO runoffs, and fistulograms
- Each room staffed with a 3-person team
- No CVOR backup on site, so no staged/protected PCIs/CTOs are performed
- Average caseload of 7-14 per day
- 4x10 hour day shifts, 0630-1700
- Weekday and weekend call required with a 30-minute response time
- EMR used is EPIC
- Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis med dispensing, Merge hemodynamic monitoring, GE C-arms, and MedRad injectors
- No floating required
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience required; combined Cath Lab and IR experience preferred
- Current BLS, ACLS, and ARRT or RCIS certification required
- State license required if applicable
- RN candidates require BLS and ACLS certification with skills in EKG interpretation, circulating, sedation, and transport
- RT candidates must be able to scrub and pan simultaneously and perform room turnover
- Experience with Manifold preferred for RT candidates
- Impella experience preferred
Additional Information
- Support staff includes 24/7 phlebotomy and RT coverage, hospitalist coverage, and daytime IR/cardiologist and intensivist coverage with on-call availability at night
- Charge nurse or lead tech designated daily
- Scheduler handles case scheduling; no transporter on staff
- Orientation includes MHS NEO orientation, with duration based on prior IR experience; travelers take buddy call during orientation
- RNs required to complete MHS Tele test prior to arrival
- Call schedule includes 1-2 weekday call shifts (end of shift until following morning) and 1 weekend per month (end of shift Friday through Monday morning)
- Holiday call coverage required on a rotating basis
- RTO up to 7 days allowed; additional time off or holiday requests require approval
- Self-scheduling with minor adjustments to fill gaps
- Scrubs and lead provided, including extended sizing options
- Free on-site parking available
- First-time travelers will be considered
