Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Obstetrics position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and active IL licensure.
Details
- Acute care Alternate Birthing unit with 5 L&D beds, 2 OR suites for C-sections, 1 L&D triage bed, and 7 postpartum rooms
- Follows AWHONN staffing ratios: 1:1 active labor, up to 1:3 antepartum/triage/early labor, 1:6 mother-baby
- Common diagnoses include labor, antepartum, postpartum, GYN surgical, and neonates
- 24/7 charge nurse support who takes a patient assignment when necessary
- 1 surgical tech every shift with occasional PCT support depending on census/acuity
- EFM system used is Obix
- Uses Epic EMR
- 12-hour night shifts, typically 7p-7a, with block scheduling accommodated
- Travelers required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
- No standby or call requirements
- No floating requirements
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NRP
- Fetal monitoring competency required, renewed every 2 years
- Minimum 2 years of labor & delivery experience required
- Must be able to independently manage labor patients
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- BSN not required for this position
Additional Information
- Department-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts
- Hospital-provided scrubs; dedicated shoes or shoe covers required if shoes are not dedicated
- Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis for Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day (or their eve equivalents for night shift)
- COVID vaccination is not required for consideration
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are eligible for a local rate
