Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Tele Float RN for a Level II Trauma Center, requiring an active MO or compact RN license and 2 years of nursing experience.
Details
- Float position covering Med/Surg, MS/Tele, Telemetry, and Orthopedics units
- Works in a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center setting
- Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 1900-0700
- Uses Epic charting system
- Patient population includes cardiovascular, orthopedic, neurological, and general med/surg cases
Requirements
- Active RN license (MO State or Compact) required, pending license accepted if active and in-hand prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- BSN preferred
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, and Tele/EKG exam
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Previous travel experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, central line and PICC management, blood product administration, and telemetry monitoring
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management preferred
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team protocols
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care across multiple float units including Med/Surg, Tele, and Orthopedics
- Facility offers more than 60 hospital and area clinics providing urgent, primary, specialty, and emergency care
- Only tertiary hospital between Kansas City and Omaha
- Free parking provided
- Local candidates accepted at a reduced pay rate
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
- Previous employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- RTO must be submitted at time of application
- Module orientation (up to 4 hours) completed through MyPath during orientation
