Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Circulating RN for an Operating Room position requiring trauma experience and on-call availability for a hospital in Texas.
Details
- Operating Room department with circulating RN duties for operative procedures
- Monday-Friday 8-hour day shifts (0700-1530)
- On-call shifts required to provide trauma coverage, varying based on staffing needs
- Potential call shifts covering evenings, nights, and weekends (1530-1900, 1900-0700, and weekend 12-hour blocks)
- Holiday call required for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve night, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve night, and New Year's Day
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required, no pending licenses accepted
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
- BSN highly desired
- AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
- Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience required
- Trauma experience required
- At least 2 years of prior work experience in a US hospital in the OR specialty required
Additional Information
- Perform scrubbing and/or circulating duties for operative procedures and department admissions to the operative suite
- Adhere to standards and appropriate aseptic techniques
- Coordinate with team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative patient care plans
- Serve as a communication liaison between patients, families, and the operating team
- Prepare the operating room and assemble equipment and supplies, ensuring functionality and availability of implants
- Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
