Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring AWHONN Intermediate certification and strong fetal monitoring skills.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit caring for Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, OB Triage, Antepartum, and Normal Newborn patients
- Facility averages 200-300 births per month
- Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
- Staffing ratio of 1:1 to 1:3
- Performs vaginal and cesarean deliveries, circulates in OR, and starts adult IVs
- Administers blood and blood products, manages drains, epidural pumps, and PCA pumps
- Administers insulin and magnesium sulfate therapy
- Utilizes IUPC placement and calibration, and fetal monitoring equipment
- Supports High Risk Antepartum, High Risk L&D, LDRP, and Couplet Care settings
- Epic EMR used
- Floating required as needed between facilities
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in LDRP, L&D, Postpartum, and Newborn care
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), AWHONN Intermediate
- ACLS preferred
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience administering blood and blood products
- Skilled in anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
- Experience circulating and recovering C-sections, sterile vaginal exams, and assisting high-risk deliveries
- Epic EMR experience required
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides direct patient care across Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, OB Triage, Antepartum, and Newborn units
- Performs triage of obstetrical patients and antepartum care and procedures
- Manages pain assessment and administration of PCA pumps
- Follows isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Floating expected between sister facilities within the region
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
- Previous Providence permanent employees must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify
- Returning candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility they previously worked at
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local rate eligibility
- First-time travelers are not considered for this position
