Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring a CA RN license, BSN, and teaching hospital experience.
Details
- Work in the Neuro ICU at a teaching hospital
- Variable 12-hour day and night shifts (3x12), with day shifts 7:00-19:30 and night shifts 19:00-7:30
- Epic EMR experience required
- Floating to other departments, units, or facilities within a 75+ mile radius may be required at any time during the assignment
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- BSN required
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Neuro ICU and Trauma ICU experience preferred
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Prior charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience with IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, blood product administration, and TPN/lipids
- Experience in care of ventilated patients, tracheostomy care, ABG interpretation, and ventilator management
- Experience with neurological care including CVA/stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, post-craniotomy, and TBI/spinal cord injury management
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and titration of vasoactive/cardiac drips preferred
- 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to neuro and trauma ICU patients, including complex neurological and multisystem cases
- Must disclose all requested time off at time of submission, with manager approval required and no additional requests accepted mid-contract
- Time off is not permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
