Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night-shift role requiring 2 years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30
- Patient population includes labor/preterm labor, high risk and low risk antepartum, and GYN surgical cases
- Staffing ratio of 1:1 to 1:3
- Responsibilities include circulating, OB-GYN care, pre-op/post-op, scrubbing, and transition nursery care
- Facility performs 200-300 births per month
- Floating required to Post-Partum and possibly L&D at a sister facility
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (ACLS preferred)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood and blood product administration, and central line maintenance (CVC/PICC)
- Skilled in medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
- Experience assisting with high risk deliveries, circulating and recovering C-sections, and sterile vaginal exams
- Skilled in epidural anesthesia support, pain assessment/management, and use of PCA (IV)
- Experience with fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, and antepartum/postpartum care
- Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted with the required experience
- Teaching hospital setting with a strong team camaraderie, including staff book clubs and group dinners
- May request up to 2 of 3 major holidays off (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, New Year's/New Year's Eve)
- Floating to sister facilities within the system may be required
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate within a 50 mile radius
- Former permanent staff of the facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel staff and must reside outside a 50 mile radius
- Former permanent employees of other Providence facilities (non-Swedish) are eligible after a 3 month separation
- Active compact license honored across all Swedish facilities
