Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
- Facility performs 200-300 births per month
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
- Patient population includes labor, preterm labor, high risk antepartum, and low risk antepartum/LD cases
- Staffing ratio of 1:1 to 1:3
- Responsibilities include circulating, OB-GYN care, pre-op/post-op, scrubbing, couplet care, and transition nursery
- Attends all deliveries including high risk deliveries and GYN surgeries
- Floating required to Post-Partum and possibly L&D at a nearby sister facility
- 13 or 26 week contracts accepted
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
- ACLS preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood and blood product administration, central line maintenance, anticoagulation and antihypertensive therapy, insulin and magnesium sulfate drips
- Labor and delivery management skills required including assisting with high risk deliveries, circulating and recovering C-sections, and sterile vaginal exams
- Pain management skills required including epidural anesthesia and PCA use
- Experience with fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, and antepartum/postpartum care required
Additional Information
- Teaching hospital environment with strong staff camaraderie, including book clubs and group dinners
- Can request up to 2 of 3 major holidays off (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, New Year's/New Year's Eve), with only 1 holiday required to be worked
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Former permanent employees of other Providence facilities (non-Swedish) are eligible after a 3-month separation period
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
- Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
