Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night-shift role requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
- Facility averages 200-300 births per month
- Patient population includes labor, preterm labor, and high-risk antepartum cases
- Staffing ratio of 1:1 to 1:3
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
- Responsibilities include circulating, OB-GYN, pre-op/post-op, scrub, low-risk antepartum, and low-risk L&D care
- Attends all deliveries including high-risk deliveries, GYN surgeries, couplet care, and transition nursery
- Float required to Post-Partum and potentially L&D at a sister facility
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
- ACLS preferred
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line maintenance, anticoagulation and antihypertensive therapy, insulin and magnesium sulfate drips, high-risk delivery assistance, C-section circulating and recovery, sterile vaginal exams, epidural and PCA pain management, fetal monitoring, and IUPC placement/calibration
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- 2 professional references required, covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years, in a comparable specialty/setting
Additional Information
- First-time travelers accepted with required minimum experience
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
- Must commit to working 1 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, New Year's/New Year's Eve)
- Former Providence permanent staff (non-Swedish) eligible to return as travelers after a 3-month separation
- Facility maintains a collaborative team culture with staff book clubs and group outings
