Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring WA or compact license and Epic experience.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
- Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
- Facility averages 200-300 births per month
- Patient population includes labor/preterm labor, high risk antepartum, and low risk antepartum/LD
- Responsibilities include circulating, OB-GYN, pre-op, post-op, and scrub duties
- Performs special procedures including blood/blood product administration, epidural and PCA pump management, magnesium sulfate and insulin therapy, and wound vac care
- Staffing ratio of 1:1 to 1:3
- Floating required to Postpartum and possibly L&D at Swedish First Hill
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (ACLS preferred)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience attending high risk and routine deliveries, GYN surgeries, and couplet care
- Skilled in fetal monitoring, IUPC placement/calibration, and obstetric triage
- Skilled in IV therapy, central line maintenance, and anticoagulation/antihypertensive medication administration
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Work in a well-regarded facility known for strong staff camaraderie, book clubs, and group outings
- May be expected to float between sister facilities within the region
- Required to work 1 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Eve, New Year's/Eve)
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel pay, though local candidates are accepted at a lower rate
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside the 50-mile radius
- Only 1 submission allowed system-wide to Providence facilities at a time
