Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a high-risk, high-volume unit requiring at least 1 year of L&D experience and a WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30
- High risk/high volume Labor and Delivery unit with 31 rooms and beds
- Average daily census of 15 patients with 500-600 deliveries per month
- Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OBs, Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinics
- 4 operating rooms on unit
- Functions in Baby Nurse role during delivery and continues newborn care until transfer to post partum
- Circulates for deliveries and provides newborn care including eyes, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments
- Administers medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Uses Epic EMR system (required)
- Uses electronic fetal monitoring equipment
- Float required to Post Partum/Antepartum units and sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care
- Required to work every other weekend and holidays as needed
- Schedule posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
- Current BLS and NRP certification required
- ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
- High risk L&D experience required
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high acuity environments
- Patient ratio experience of 1:1-2
- Epic EMR charting experience required
- First-time travelers accepted with required experience
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
Additional Information
- Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Pre-approved time off considered on a case-by-case basis
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Local radius rule of 50 miles
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3 month separation, provided they live outside the 50 mile radius
- Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
- Compact license must be active and in hand at time of submission
- Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
