Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor and Delivery RN for a high-risk, high-volume unit requiring night shift availability and WA or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- High-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit with 4 ORs, 31 rooms/beds
- Average daily census of 15 patients with 500-600 deliveries per month
- Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, adult recovery services for substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
- Uses Epic EMR and electronic fetal monitoring
- Floating required to Post Partum/Antepartum units and sister facilities offering Mother/Baby services
- Works every other weekend and holidays as needed
- Schedule posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required, 2-3 years preferred
- High-risk L&D experience required
- Must be able to function in the Baby Nurse role during delivery and provide newborn care until transfer to postpartum
- Must be able to circulate for deliveries
- Experience with Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate administration required
- Epic EMR experience required
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides direct patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity Labor and Delivery environment
- Performs newborn assessments, eye care, and Vitamin K injections
- Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Pre-approved time off considered on a case-by-case basis and should be requested upfront
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
- Former permanent employees at this facility may return as travelers after a 3-month separation period, provided they do not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Travelers may be required to float to sister facilities within the state
