Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a high-risk, high-volume unit requiring at least 1 year of high-risk L&D experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit providing high risk/high volume obstetric care with 4 ORs, 31 rooms, and 31 beds
• Serves midwifery clients, private OB patients, Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
• Average daily census of 15 patients with 500-600 deliveries per month
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Schedule posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs
• Required to work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Float required to Post Partum/Antepartum and sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care
• Uses Epic EMR and electronic fetal monitoring
• Functions as Baby Nurse during delivery, continuing newborn care until transfer to post partum
• Circulates for deliveries and C-sections
• Administers medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience required, 2-3 years preferred
• High risk L&D experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Able to work in fast-paced, high acuity environments
• Experience with newborn assessment, eyes, Vit K injections, and thigh care required
• Skills in amnioinfusion, assisting with high risk and vaginal deliveries, circulating for C-sections, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock management
• 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, from a comparable specialty/setting

Additional Information

• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
• Provides circulating and newborn care including eyes, Vit K injections, thigh assessments, and newborn assessments
• First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of experience
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Radius requirement of 50 miles for local candidate classification
• Returning former Providence permanent staff must have been separated for at least 3 months and must not be within 50 miles of the facility
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Pre-approved time off considered on a case-by-case basis and must be requested upfront
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the region
