Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Details
- Work in a 38-bed Emergency Department providing urgent and emergent care for patients arriving via EMS, walk-in, or hospital transfer
- Unit includes a specialized isolation room with negative/positive pressure capability for critical and infectious cases
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts per week from 7:00am to 7:00pm
- 36 hours per week
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or Compact)
- BLS certification required
- ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
- No prior experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with care team members
- Last 4 digits of SSN and MM/DD of date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document in accordance with RN scope of practice and hospital policy
- Implement patient care therapies and procedures within scope of practice, considering patient culture and age
- Coordinate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and case management coordination
- Delegate and oversee care tasks performed by other team members
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and pressure ulcer monitoring
- Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility to qualify for travel rate; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
