Description
American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist to perform routine and complex breast imaging procedures in an outpatient breast imaging center, requiring ARRT certification in both Radiography and Mammography.
Details
- Outpatient breast imaging unit performing routine and complex mammography and assigned invasive procedures
- Monday-Friday day shift from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- No weekend or holiday shifts required
- No floating requirements
- Uses PACS and other digital imaging and reporting systems
Requirements
- Associate's degree in a related field or Certificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology required
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- IEMA Radiography license required if applicable
- ARRT (R) certification required
- ARRT (Mammography) certification required
Additional Information
- Select appropriate mammography protocols and techniques to obtain optimal imaging data
- Review patient history and supporting clinical data to determine medical necessity and screen for pregnancy when applicable
- Critique positioning, technical factors, and alignment to maintain imaging quality standards
- Maintain imaging equipment, supply inventories, and workplace orderliness, reporting malfunctions or service needs promptly
- Assist in instruction of students and new staff as needed
- May perform duties of Breast Imaging Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence
- Assist other imaging areas during downtimes to maintain department productivity
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Returning workers may not be continuously assigned for more than 1 year without a required 6-month break in service
- Radius rule of 50 miles applies, local candidates not accepted
