Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department role requiring high-volume ED and triage experience, along with a compact or MD RN license.
Details
- Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Float within skillset required
- Performs cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Responsible for triage, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and isolation precautions/PPE
Requirements
- Active compact or MD RN license required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience required
- Must have worked within the past 8 months in an ED with at least 45,600 visits/year (125/day)
- Triage experience required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Prior travel nursing assignment required
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
Additional Information
- Provides emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
- Responsible for starting and maintaining IVs and performing phlebotomy
- Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility
- Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
- Previous MedStar employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
- No more than 7 days RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment
- First-time travelers are not eligible; prior travel assignment experience required
