Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN with EPIC charting experience and prior travel assignment history for a day shift position.
Details
- Work in the Telemetry unit, supporting cardiac, neuro, and medical-surgical telemetry patients
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Includes 4 weekend shifts (2 Saturdays and 2 Sundays) plus 3 Mondays and 3 Fridays within a 6-week period
- Potential to float between Edgewood and Florence campuses and to Observation, Med-Surg, and MS/Tele units as needed
- Supports ED boarder patients awaiting inpatient beds, floating to observation units when boarder volume is low
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Strict no-call policy in place
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 1.5 years of telemetry experience required
- Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and accessing/managing ports required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- At least 2 supervisory references required
- COVID vaccination (medical/religious exemptions only) and flu vaccination required
Additional Information
- Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response as part of daily care
- Deliver care for CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, and other neurological/psychiatric patients as needed
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral IV access as part of patient care
- Navy blue scrubs required with no agency or brand logos permitted
- No nose rings or gauged earrings; natural fingernails required with polish allowed, nails under 1/4 inch
- No on-site cafeteria, though refrigerator and microwave are available
- Free parking available in any unrestricted space
- Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at a reduced local rate
- Only one holiday RTO request permitted; holiday coverage expected
- Previous full-time, part-time, or per diem employees must be separated from employment for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Travelers completing a prior assignment must have a 90-day system break before returning
- Candidates who have applied for or are in process for a permanent role within the past 6 months are not eligible
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
