Description
American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist for a Level 1 trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of recent MRI experience and ARRT MR/R certification.
Details
- Tertiary care hospital with 456 staffed beds, 5-time Magnet designated and a Level 1 trauma teaching facility
- MRI department performing abdominal, brain, head, neck, cervical, lumbar, and spinal trauma imaging
- Procedures include MRA, MRV, T1/T2 weighted imaging, and MR cardiac imaging with/without contrast
- Uses GE 1.5T and 3T scanners and Epic for charting
- 3x12 hour day shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, including weekend blocked shifts
- On-call requirement of approximately one night per week from midnight to 6:00 AM
- Regular floating required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent MRI experience, with no employment gaps greater than 90 days in the past year
- Current BLS, ARRT(MR), and ARRT(R) certifications required
- Skilled in isolation precautions and preparation/administration of contrast media
- Experience with adult acute care, ICU, and outpatient settings preferred
- Cardiac MRI experience preferred
- Experience starting peripheral IVs and knowledge of radiation safety preferred
- Both Kansas and Missouri licenses or a compact license required in hand at time of consideration, license required if applicable
- First-time travelers accepted if they meet the 2-year experience requirement
Additional Information
- Perform MRI procedures across multiple specialties including abdominal, neurological, and spinal imaging
- May float between departments, units, and facilities to meet facility needs
- Navy scrubs required
- Free parking provided
- Maximum RTO of 7 days during the assignment
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
- No travel partners accepted
