Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring an active OH or compact RN license and 2 years of experience with intermediate medication drips.
Details
- Mixed unit PCU, Med Surg Tele, and Med Surg within an Observation Unit
- Adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including chest pain, atrial fibrillation, TIA, GI bleed, CHF, COPD, seizure, and more
- Patient ratio of 1:4 on all shifts
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating required within service line and across Toledo, Flower, Bay Park, and Wildwood facilities to units including Neuro/Stroke, Cardiac, Orthopedic, Trauma, Oncology, General Surg, and Uro/Vascular
- EPIC charting system required
- Fast-paced environment with a length of stay goal of 18-24 hours
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required, including familiarity with intermediate medication drips (heparin, nitro, cardizem, insulin, etc)
- Charge nurse experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Observation medicine experience preferred
- Pending licenses not accepted
Additional Information
- Provide care primarily to patients managed under EDOBS providers located within the department
- Work in a Level I trauma center and the largest acute care hospital in the Toledo metropolitan area
- Navy blue scrubs required
- First-time travelers accepted
- No local candidates within 50 miles accepted
- Block scheduling not accommodated
- Schedules subject to change with two-week notice provided by facility
- RTO requests greater than 7 days require management approval
