Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring OH or compact RN licensure and prior PCU experience.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) caring for lower acuity cardiac patients
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• 36 hours per week including weekdays and some weekends
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Float to units of similar or lower acuity as needed
• Uses EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Minimum 2 years of PCU experience preferred
• Cardiac experience preferred
• EPIC experience required
• Strong skills in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and conscious sedation
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
• Experience with rapid response/code teams
• Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide high-quality nursing care for lower acuity cardiac patients
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with the healthcare team
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict processing timelines
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for travel positions
• First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience for this role
