Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Telemetry with EKG interpretation, IV start, and chest tube management skills for a cardiac and neuro telemetry unit.
Details
- 30-bed Telemetry Unit (with 12 overflow beds) caring for cardiac and neuro patients
- 4:1 patient ratio
- Uses tele boxes, Welch Allyn vital sign machines, and Alaris IV pumps
- Meditech EMR
- Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- 3-4 weekend shifts per month required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required to PCU and Med/Surg units
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in telemetry nursing
- Skilled in EKG interpretation, IV starts, and chest tube management
- No employment gaps of 90+ days in the past 12 months
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Receive patients post heart cath, pacemaker placement, ablation, Watchman procedure, valve repair, and cardioversion
- Day shift team includes 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, 2 CNAs, and 0-1 sitters
- Facility is a Level II Trauma Center
- No specific scrub color required, but no visible piercings allowed
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, no local candidates accepted
- Quick learners with strong communication skills and dependability are ideal fits
