Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Neuro RN for a night shift position requiring neuro/neurosurgical experience and a compact or ME RN license.
Details
- Neuro/Ortho/Trauma surgical unit with 26 beds
- Patient population includes neurosurgical cases (spinal surgery, spine fractures, brain tumors), seizure disorders, VP shunts, head bleeds, traumatic injuries, and joint replacement surgery
- Patient ratios of 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- No call requirements
- Floating required as needed within a 25-mile radius between facilities
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (Maine or compact) required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Neuro/neurosurgical experience required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to neurosurgical, trauma, and orthopedic patients on a busy surgical unit
- Looking for a proactive team player with a positive attitude
- Scrubs of any color accepted, professional appearance must be maintained at all times
- Air pods, laptops, and cell phone usage prohibited on the unit
- Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (Maine or New Hampshire residents) are considered local and not eligible for renewals or extensions
- RTO should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for the 13-week contract
- Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months must disclose this during consideration
