Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ICU Float Pool position requiring 3 years of ICU experience and the flexibility to float across multiple critical care units.
Details
- Float pool position covering ICU and IMC levels of care
- Floats to MICU, SICU, CICU, Neuro ICU, and IMC units based on experience
- Cares for basic ICU patients including sedated, intubated, and pressor-dependent patients, excluding high complexity cases such as CRRT
- Patient ratios are 1:2 in ICU and 1:3 in IMC
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- 75% weekend requirement
- No call requirements
- Uses EPIC EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (ME or Compact) required
- BLS and relevant AHA certifications required, with non-AHA certifications accepted at submission if AHA is completed before start
- Minimum 2-3 years of ICU acute care experience required
- Must be able to read and interpret own telemetry
- Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care across multiple ICU and IMC units, adjusting to different assignments as needed within the float pool
- Must be flexible and able to transition between multiple unit assignments during a single shift if required
- Subject to a 25-mile float policy between facilities as needed
- Non-specific scrub color required; open-toed shoes, crocs, jeans, and clothing with large logos or profanity are not permitted
- Air pods, laptops, and cell phone usage are prohibited on the unit
- Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (Maine or New Hampshire residents) are considered local and are not eligible for renewals or extensions
- RTO should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract at the manager's discretion
- Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months must disclose this during consideration
