Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Details
- 24-bed Telemetry unit supporting a comprehensive stroke program
- Specializes in Neurology, Neurosurgery, TIA, and CVA care, with overflow support for orthopedic patients
- Patients are transferred from ICU, ED, and PACU
- 1st shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7p-7a
- Weekends and holidays required as needed
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license
- Current BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required within 3 months of hire
- ACLS certification required within 12 months of hire
- Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
- ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
- No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, and treatment implementation according to the nursing process
- Coordinate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including patient and family education
- Delegate and oversee care tasks performed by other team members
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary care teams to support holistic, patient-centered care
- Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility to qualify for the travel rate; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
- First-time travelers may be considered for this role
