Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and prior travel assignment history.
Details
- Level III Trauma Emergency Department with 20 beds, newly renovated with state-of-the-art monitors and communication devices
- Over 26,000 patient visits annually
- Patient population spans newborn to geriatric
- Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5
- EMR: EPIC
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 48 hrs/week
- Every other weekend required, holidays required if needed
- No scheduled on-call, call only during low census periods
- Travel pairs considered if able to work different shifts and provide own transportation
Requirements
- Active NH RN license or compact license required in-hand prior to consideration
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or American Red Cross)
- Minimum 2 years of current Emergency Department experience required
- Prior travel assignment experience of at least 3 months required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- BSN preferred
- Must be comfortable managing drips and ventilators
- Must have own vehicle for transportation to the facility
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to adapt quickly to stressful situations
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care across the full life cycle from infancy through geriatric patients, applying age-specific growth and development knowledge to individualize care
- Function as part of a closely integrated team spanning pre-hospital responders, ambulance crews, paramedics, and in-hospital staff
- Must work two required holiday blocks if scheduled: Thanksgiving Day through the following weekend, Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the following weekend, and New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and the following weekend
- Travelers may not request all holidays off
- Professional scrubs required, no logos, provided by the traveler
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered
- Travelers working in conjunction with another permanent placement or travel assignment will not be considered
- Schedule accommodation requests, such as block scheduling, will not be considered
- RTO must be submitted and verified at the time of profile upload, with a maximum of 5 days accepted; requests made after upload will not be approved
