Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and prior travel assignment history.
Details
- Level III Trauma Emergency Department with 26,000+ visits per year
- 20-bed newly renovated unit with state-of-the-art monitors and communication devices
- Patient population ranges from newborn to geriatric
- Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5
- Uses EPIC EMR
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required, with holidays as needed
- No scheduled on-call, call only during low census periods
Requirements
- Active NH RN license or compact license required in-hand prior to consideration
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification (AHA or American Red Cross)
- Minimum 2+ years of current ED experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience of at least 3 months required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- BSN preferred
- Must be comfortable managing drips and ventilators
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
- Must be able to adapt quickly to stressful situations
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care across the lifespan from infancy through geriatric patients, individualizing care based on age-related growth and development
- Work collaboratively with pre-hospital, emergency department, and in-hospital teams including EMS, paramedics, and trauma surgeons
- Travel pairs considered, but must be able to work different shifts and arrange own transportation to the facility
- Must have own vehicle for this assignment
- Traveler-provided professional scrubs required with no logos
- Holiday coverage required, including two full blocks: Thanksgiving Day through the following weekend, Christmas Eve through the weekend after Christmas, and New Year's Eve through the weekend after New Year's Day
- Scheduling accommodations such as block scheduling cannot be accommodated for this assignment
- Candidates currently working another permanent or travel assignment will not be considered
- RTO must be requested and verified prior to assignment start, with a maximum of 5 days accepted
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered
