Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a certified stroke center requiring 2+ years of ED experience and a NE or compact RN license.
Details
- Acute care Emergency Department with 18 beds/trauma bays at a certified stroke center
- Patient ratios of 1:4-5 based on acuity
- Treats all age groups with chest pain, abdominal pain, cough/congestion, orthopedic injuries, ENT emergencies, behavioral health, sepsis, and stroke cases
- High acuity patient population
- Common drips include antibiotics, narcotics, anti-emetics, vaccines, and emergency medications
- Uses EPIC EMR and Alaris IV pumps
- Charge nurse present on each shift who also takes an assignment
- 12-hour night shifts with potential shift times of 7a-7p, 11a-11p, 3p-3a, or 7p-7a
- Every other weekend required
- No floating required
- Utilizes TeleHealth services
- 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
Requirements
- Active NE or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, and HSS Team (workplace violence training)
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Must pass a pass/fail open-book exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
Additional Information
- Focus on purposeful rounding and delivering compassionate emergency care
- Looking for a self-starter with a passion for emergency medicine, a positive attitude, and strong teamwork skills
- Navy blue scrub color required
- Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, and candidates may not currently work full time, part time, or PRN at any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility
- Candidates may not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be requested upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved after submission
