Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg - Orthopedics RN for a night shift position requiring strong total joint replacement experience and 2+ years of RN experience.

Details

• Acute care Level 1 trauma hospital setting on a 22-bed Med/Surg-Ortho/Tele unit
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 with CNA support at 1:7-8 ratios
• Patient population includes orthopedic joint replacements and fractures
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Charge nurse coverage available 24/7
• RNs are not required to titrate drips
• Unit has telemetry monitoring but RNs are not required to read strips
• Respiratory therapy equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, high flow) used as needed
• 12-hour night shifts
• Weekend requirement of every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule
• Holiday rotation required
• Floating possible to 7E, 7W, 10W, and 10E

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Strong orthopedic experience required, specifically total joint replacement (not just fracture) experience
• Unexpired driver's license copy required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for orthopedic patients including joint replacements and fractures
• Unit-specific orientation consists of 1-2 shifts
• Dress code requires royal blue scrubs
• COVID vaccination required, with medical or religious exemption forms available upon request
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel positions
• Previous permanent staff must have a 2-year break before returning as travelers
• Previous travelers who worked a full year must take a 2-year break before returning
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
