Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele float pool position requiring Level I trauma experience and prior travel assignment history.
Details
- Float pool position supporting 15 medical-surgical units, including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, GYN, GU, hips and joints, oncology, and transplant/vascular
- 12-hour rotating shifts between days and nights, with one week in a four-week period requiring 1 shift of 12 hours and 3 shifts of 8 hours
- 36 hours per week with shift times of 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Patient ratios average 4:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
- Unit-specific procedures include 12-lead EKGs, lasix drips, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring
- RNs administer nebulizers; ventilator management is handled by RT
- Assignment to a specific unit typically lasts 2-3 weeks, with some schedules confirmed as little as 2 hours before shift start
- Epic EMR experience required
- No set schedule provided, though RTO is honored
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required in hand
- Minimum 3 years of related RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Level I trauma center experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
- Basic computer skills and ability to navigate web-based applications required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty area expertise preferred
- Flu vaccination documentation required during flu season
- COVID vaccine plus booster and flu vaccine required (medical exemptions allowed)
Additional Information
- Weekly orientation held every Monday, barring holidays
- Any color scrubs permitted
- RTO requests may not exceed 4 days, and blocked scheduling or recurring specific days off will not be approved
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Previous BILH employees (travel, perm, or per diem) must complete a 6-month break before returning to any Beth Israel Lahey Health facility
- Pass/Fail testing required for Tele/ECG and Medication competency
- First-time travelers will not be considered due to prior travel experience requirement
