Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a nephrology/transplant unit on a night shift schedule, requiring med/surg and renal/dialysis experience.

Details

• 13-week travel assignment on a 20-bed 6W Transplant Nephrology unit
• Night shift schedule from 7p-7a
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for medical-surgical and renal/transplant patients
• Unit supported by unit secretary, PCTs, and unit educator
• Uses Meditech documentation system
• Dialysis treatments performed off the unit
• Scheduling requires 3 weekend shifts per month
• No on-call requirements
• Agency and contract nurses float first per unit policy

Requirements

• Active RN license (Missouri or Compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• ADN required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in med/surg, nephrology, kidney transplant, renal, or dialysis care
• Level 1 trauma center experience

Additional Information

• Provide medical-surgical nursing care to a nephrology and kidney transplant patient population
• Virtual nurse supports patient admissions, allowing bedside nurses to focus on other patients
• Unit recognized for teamwork with a 'We show up' award
• Royal blue scrubs required, with black scrub pants permitted
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible, with no local candidates considered
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
