Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week night shift acute care assignment, requiring 2+ years of experience and both pediatric and adult respiratory therapy experience.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting within the Respiratory Therapy department
- Typical inpatient population requiring respiratory therapy services
- Average of 2 RT per shift with 25-30 acuities, assignments made based on patient acuity
- Uses ventilators as part of daily care
- Cerner EMR used for charting
- Night shift, 7p-7a (6:30-6:30 scheduled hours)
- Every other weekend required
- Floats first based on seniority (EOW first to float)
- RT coverage provided 24/7
- Hospitalist/Intensivist in house but not 24/7, available on-call after hours
- Works into the permanent staff holiday schedule
Requirements
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (AHA)
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Must have both pediatric and adult respiratory therapy experience
- NICU experience preferred but not required
- California RT license required
- License required if applicable
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
Additional Information
- Floor-specific orientation ranges from 1-3 days depending on experience
- Charge RT and Lead Therapist assist with treatments during admin days, with Lead present 1-2 days per week
- Pharmacy services available in house until 10pm with 24/7 access and on-call pharmacist support after hours
- Black scrub color required
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
