Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Level III NICU position requiring CA RN license, NRP certification, and prior NICU surgical experience.
Details
- Level III NICU setting caring for surgical neonates from 23 weeks gestation and up
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 0700-1930
- No call requirement
- Every other weekend required
- Float to peds, PICU, and nursery as needed
- Unit utilizes cooling therapy, all respiratory modes, PICC, bronchoscopy, LISA, VCUG, MRI, and swallow studies
- Line insertion procedures performed on unit
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Experience with neonates less than 24-28 weeks gestation
- Cardiovascular care including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- GI care including feedings (bottle, breast, gavage) and oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tube placement and management
- Infectious disease management including isolation precautions and PPE
- IV therapy experience including arterial line management and central/implanted line care
- UAC and UVC management experience
- Experience administering emergency medications including IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids
- Neurologic care experience including neonatal abstinence syndrome management
- Ventilator management experience across AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP modes
- Charting system experience required (any EMR)
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neonates in a Level III/IV NICU environment
- Holiday coverage expected for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Only one holiday request approved per contract
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
- Local candidates accepted
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility
- Returning staff/travelers must have a separation period of one year before reapplying
- Candidates must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
- First-time travelers considered for this position
