Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a busy inpatient surgical unit requiring Level I or II trauma center experience and NH or compact RN licensure.
Details
- 36-bed adult surgical unit caring primarily for trauma and acute care surgical patients
- 2 negative pressure rooms available for COVID-positive patients
- Common diagnoses include spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, orthopedic trauma injuries, hernia repair, small bowel obstructions, appendectomy, and cholecystectomy
- LNA to patient ratio of 1:12
- RN to patient ratio of 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights
- 12-hour PM-AM shift schedule
Requirements
- Active NH RN License or Compact License with proof of state residency required
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 1.5 years of recent equivalent Med/Surg experience
- Recent Level I or comparable Level II Trauma center experience within the last 2 years required
- Experience with chest tubes, lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients
- Experience with drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, or amiodarone
- Experience with trachs and laryngectomies
- Telemetry experience required
- Experience managing complex wounds
- Experience with central line care, maintenance, and blood draws
Additional Information
- Fast-paced unit focused on rehabilitating and supporting trauma and surgical patients
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
