Description

American Traveler is hiring a Level III NICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring Level III NICU experience and NRP certification.

Details

  • 18-bed Level 2-3 NICU located on the same floor as the Post-Partum unit
  • Staffed by a Director, Charge RN, NICU RNs, Neonatologists, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, Respiratory Therapists, and Lactation Consultants
  • Patient ratios of 1:1, 2:1, and 3:1 for feeder/grower infants
  • Unit cares for babies born at less than 32 weeks gestation, critical illness newborns of all gestational ages, and full range of pediatric subspecialties
  • Uses heart monitors, oximeters, CT/MRI, endotracheal tubes, ventilators, CPAP, Nitric, Jet vents, IV drips, and central lines
  • Documents in Meditech
  • Night shift 7:00PM-7:00AM
  • No mandatory call
  • May be first to float to Postpartum (babies only) or assist in Transition (not as the sole RN)

Requirements

  • Active FL or compact RN license
  • BLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition), and STABLE certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience required
  • Level III NICU experience required
  • Experience with Jet vents, Oscillator vents, Nitric, central lines, ELBW babies, IV drips, and PIVs required
  • No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
  • Two professional references required for Florida-based positions

Additional Information

  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill and premature neonates in a Level III NICU setting
  • Work alongside a 24/7 team of nationally certified Level III therapists and neonatologists with a dedicated Case Manager
  • Facility holds Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval and offers a Donor Milk Program with state-of-the-art infant security systems
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Preferred certifications include NCC, RNC-LRN, C-NPT, and C-EFM
  • Candidates should demonstrate strong critical thinking, emotional stability, and communication skills while working with families in high-stress situations
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
