Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring CA RN license, BSN, and prior neurosurgery scrub/circulate experience at a teaching hospital.
Details
- Operating Room unit at a teaching hospital
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 10:45 to 21:15
- Scrub and circulate responsibilities required
- Neurosurgery case focus including Neurovascular (open and intraop angiography), Functional, Peripheral nerve, and Neurooncological specialties
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Epic charting system used
- Floating to other UCSF facilities required at any time, within a 75+ mile radius, based on qualifications
Requirements
- Active CA RN license in hand required
- BSN required
- AHA BLS certification required
- CNOR and ACLS certifications preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience required
- Minimum 2 years of experience scrubbing and circulating Neurosurgery cases required
- Previous charge experience required
- Previous travel assignment experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
- Epic charting experience required
- 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
Additional Information
- Scrub and circulate for a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, gynecology, plastics, neurology, cardiovascular, general, endoscopic, robotic, urology, ENT, bariatric, transplant, thoracic, and podiatry procedures
- Experience with specialized equipment such as cell saver, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Steris systems is valued
- Knowledge of infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling, and universal protocol procedures required
- Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates worked, units, and manager names for a rehire eligibility check
- All requested time off must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager at time of offer; no time off permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment, and no additional requests accepted mid-contract
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
- Travel pairs allowed but generally not placed on the same unit; married couples may not work on the same unit
