Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring CT/compact license and at least 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience at a Level I Trauma Center.
Details
- Neuro ICU setting within a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
- Average patient ratios of 1:2 for both day and night shifts
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00-19:00)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active or pending CT RN license (Compact accepted)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
- Experience with EVD, ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocol, and post-craniotomy/neurosurgery care
- Skilled in ventilator management, arterial line management, and central/PICC line care
- Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and management of vasoactive and sedation drips preferred
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to complex neurological and neurosurgical patients including stroke, TBI, and spinal cord injury cases
- Participate in emergency response and natural disaster coverage as needed
- Flu vaccination required with no declinations accepted
- COVID-19 vaccination required with only religious or medical exemptions accepted
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible unless accepting a local rate
- Former staff must have a 2-year separation before returning as a traveler
- Requests for RTO beyond 7 days require additional approval
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
