Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Operating Room position requiring an active MA license and experience in neuro, ortho trauma, and kidney transplant surgeries.
Details
- Level I Trauma inpatient operating room consisting of 10 operating rooms
- Surgical case types include bariatric, neurosurgery, ENT, orthopedic trauma, spine, plastic reconstruction, robotic surgery, and kidney/liver transplants
- 10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, 40 hours/week over 13 weeks
- Up to 2 weekends per month, either on-call (7A-7P or 7P-7A on Sat/Sun/holidays) or working shifts
- On-call response time of 30 minutes required
- Short call shift required once a week, either 3A-7A or 5P-9P
- Primarily based at West Main campus with floating to East or CVI OR as needed
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required in hand
- Experience in neuro, ortho trauma, and kidney transplant surgery required
- Skills in scrubbing and/or circulating for general surgery, robotics, transplants, ortho, neuro, spine, ENT (head & neck), GYN, urology, organ procurement, and trauma
- Must provide proof of flu vaccination during flu season
- COVID vaccine plus booster required (medical exemptions allowed)
Additional Information
- Scrub and/or circulate a wide variety of complex surgical procedures in a Level I Trauma center
- Weekly orientation held every Monday, barring holidays
- Holiday coverage required for any holiday falling within the contract period
- RTO requests must be submitted and approved in advance
- Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Previous Beth Israel Lahey Health employees (travel, perm, or per diem) must have a 6-month break before returning to any BILH facility

Cost-of-living is high, parking during day hours cost is $45 a day (better to take city transit), lots of call required for dayshift and evening shift
