Description
American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of experience across acute care, outpatient, and LTC/SNF settings.
Details
- Department serves hospital inpatient and swing bed, LTC, and outpatient patients
- Day shift schedule of 5x8 or 4x10 hours
- Open to accommodating a block schedule
- No on-call requirements
- No floating required within the facility
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent physical therapy experience required
- BLS certification required
- Experience in acute care, outpatient clinic, rehabilitation hospital, and skilled nursing facility settings required
- Experience with orthopedic conditions including post-op cervical, shoulder, and spinal surgeries, total hip and knee replacements, and low back pain required
- Experience with neurologic conditions including stroke rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and cognitive disorders required
- Skilled in home exercise program development and patient/family education
- Charting system experience required
- Compact license must be in hand at time of consideration
- License required if applicable
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Main responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of home exercise programs
- Patient and family education is a core component of the role
- Not open to first-time travelers
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered
- Local candidates are not accepted
- Time off requests are approved on an individual basis upon offer
- Commitment to working 3 of the 5 major holidays is required
- Housing is provided by the facility during the assignment
