Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CCU position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring ACLS, BLS, and CT or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in the CCU of a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
- Primarily SDU assignments with occasional ICU coverage and potential floating to other units
- Average patient ratio of 1:3 across day, night, and weekend shifts
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:00)
- Every other weekend coverage required
- Float to PCU, other ICUs, and SRC campus as needed
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (CT or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS; NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent CCU/ICU experience required (1.5 years considered for Level I trauma or travel experience)
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care/management
- Experience with care of ventilated patients and interpretation of ABGs
- Experience with continuous IV sedation and cardiac monitoring/emergency response
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- One professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing support within a large academic, Level I Trauma Center setting
- Participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required with religious or medical exemption only
- Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of the hospital to be considered
- Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Facility can auto-approve up to 7 days of requested time off
