Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN requiring 3+ years of critical care experience and CA licensure for a hospital intensive care unit.

Details

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital setting
• Variable Day/Night shifts, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:30 or 19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend required
• On-call required based on census
• Float to Telemetry units depending on ICU census and need
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills required: IV therapy, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management
• Experience with ventilator management, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and administering continuous IV sedation
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management experience required
• Experience obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG required
• Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention experience preferred
• Experience with IABP, Impella, and PIRRT preferred

Additional Information

• Provide shift-based critical care to ICU patients using the nursing process in accordance with hospital policy and state Nurse Practice Act
• Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in care planning and delivery
• Delegate and supervise patient care tasks according to staff experience and education
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education
• Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Follow infection prevention protocols including isolation precautions and PPE
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning travelers must have a one-year separation before reapplying
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, with only one holiday request permitted per contract
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
