Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 1-2 years of ER experience and multiple pediatric/cardiac certifications.

Details

• Work in a combined Adult/Pediatric General Emergency Department in an acute care hospital with 158 staffed beds
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Performs cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 or 4x12 options available (6:30-19:00)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating required outside of scope
• Epic EMR used, experience preferred

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS, NRP, and NIHSS certifications required
• CPI certification preferred
• 1-2 years of recent ER nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with respiratory care of ventilated patients
• Experience managing neurological emergencies including CVA
• Proficient in administering emergency medications
• Triage experience required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days per contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
• First-time travelers are accepted for this role
• Previous permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any facility within the health system as a traveler
• Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period before requiring a 3-month break in service
