Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Acute Care Float position requiring travel experience and EPIC proficiency for night shift coverage across multiple campuses.

Details

• Acute Care Float position supporting ED boarders awaiting inpatient beds
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• Potential to float between Edgewood and Florence campuses, as well as to Observation Units, MS, and MS Tele units
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• EPIC charting system required
• Strict no-call policy in place

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum of 1.5 years of recent experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Experience with pre/post cardiac cath and accessing/managing ports required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central/peripheral/PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
• Cardiac monitoring experience including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• COVID vaccination (medical/religious exemptions only) and flu vaccination required
• Natural fingernails required for direct client care, polish acceptable, nails less than 1/4 inch in length
• No nose rings or gauged earrings permitted

Additional Information

• Support ED boarders across the system and float to observation units as needed when patient census allows
• Navy blue scrubs required with no agency or brand logos permitted on apparel
• No cafeteria on-site, though refrigerator and microwave are provided
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• Holiday coverage expected, with only one holiday permitted for RTO request
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at a reduced rate
• Travel partners are not allowed for this assignment
• Returning staff must be away from full-time, part-time, or per diem employment for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers completing 1 year on assignment must take a 90-day system break before returning
