Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level 3 trauma teaching hospital, requiring strong OR and orthopedic experience plus an active MN RN license.
Details
- Operating Room unit in an acute care, teaching hospital setting with Level 3 trauma designation
- Day shift (5x8, 6:45 AM-2:45 PM) or Evening shift (5x8, 2:45 PM-11:15 PM) schedules available
- Weekend coverage required as needed
- On-call required as needed
- Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital may be required
- Epic (Excellian) charting system used
- Scrubs provided
Requirements
- Active or pending MN RN license accepted
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of OR experience required, with strong orthopedic experience
- Community hospital experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Epic/Excellian charting experience required
- Experience with orthopedic procedures such as ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy, closed/open reduction of fractures, and laminectomy/discectomy required
- At least one supervisor reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Perform scrub and circulating duties across a range of surgical specialties including orthopedics, general surgery, gynecology, vascular, urology, and robotics
- Exposure to advanced equipment such as electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
- Must complete required pre-start training modules prior to assignment start
- Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, with no local candidate exception for this position
- Previous staff or per diem employees must have a 3-month gap since their last shift to be eligible for rehire
- Requested time off should not exceed 5 days during the assignment
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
