Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with Trauma Level I and Adult Critical Care experience for a night shift position in a hospital RRT unit.
Details
- Work in a hospital Respiratory Therapy (RRT) unit treating adult and geriatric patients
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required, subject to change as needed
- Floating to other units or campuses required as needed, limited to areas of demonstrated competency
- Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
Requirements
- Active RRT license required in South Carolina (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
- Trauma Level I experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS certification required
- Proficient in Adult Critical Care work settings including extubation, airway placement and suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care
- Experienced administering medications including albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled steroids, Isuprel, lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, terbutaline sulfate, Tobramycin, and Xopenex
- Experienced with medication delivery systems including aerosol mask and trach setups, Medihaler, and MDI
- Experienced with hand held, T-piece, and trach collar nebulizers
- Experienced with high flow nasal cannula and trach collar oxygen therapy
- Experienced with BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Skilled in interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care services to adult and geriatric patients in a critical care setting
- Deliver ventilator management, airway management, and medication administration as part of patient care
- Participate in facility orientation held every Monday and complete annual compliance requirements
- Complete pre-assignment testing and training modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Local candidates accepted subject to radius rule criteria
- Radius rule: night shift travelers must live 50+ miles from the contracted campus to be eligible, with reduced rates between 50-99.9 miles and full rate at 100+ miles
- All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of consideration and are subject to facility approval
